Meet the Author & Illustrator of Fry Bread: Kevin Noble Maillard & Juana Martinez-Neal
Families, students, teachers, and children’s book lovers are invited to the Wood County District Public Library’s meet the author & illustrator program with award-winning author and illustrator of Fry Bread, Kevin Noble Maillard and Juana Martinez-Neal. This prestigious author and illustrator duo will be visiting the library on Saturday, March 25 at 10:00 am in the Bowling Green Library Atrium.
Told in lively and powerful verse by debut author Kevin Noble Maillard, Fry Bread is an evocative depiction of a modern Native American family, vibrantly illustrated by Pura Belpre Award winner and Caldecott Honoree Juana Martinez-Neal. You can read or listen to Fry Bread on hoopla here.
This is a great opportunity for teachers and students to meet and listen to an award-winning author and illustrator, and a chance for children to meet their favorite book’s creators.
During the program, there will be a book discussion where Kevin and Juana will discuss the creation of Fry Bread, followed by a Q&A and a book signing. This program is generously supported by the estate of Marjorie Conrad.
In addition to Fry Bread, copies of Alma and How She Got Her Name, I Don't Care, and Swashby and the Sea, all illustrated by Juana Martinez-Neal, will be sold by the Mazza Museum. Copies of each book will be $15.00.
This program is presented in partnership with Bowling Green State University’s In the Round series. If you're not able to attend the Saturday event, join BGSU as they host Kevin and Juana on Friday, March 24. Click here to learn more about the In the Round event.
